It depends on the position and department you are in, but it’s generally pretty fast paced. The trash industry is busy and never ending. It’s a lot of work but it’s solid and rewarding. We all work hard no matter what department you’re in.
Raises generally occur at 90 days and on Annual Evaluations. Occasional merit increases are handed out as well.
Though experience is strongly desired, Ace is willing to hire qualified applicants without experience. For example, if a new CDL holder comes in without experience, they could get hired if they pass the interview process and drive test. We have many entry level positions in our operations and maintenance departments that a lot of our employees started at with little to no experience. Here they are given the opportunities to learn and grow within the company. We are always looking for people with experience, but we are also looking for the right people. With the right people we can expand our workforce in a positive and forward direction!
It depends on the position, department, and time of year. Different positions can average 10–12 hour days in the summertime and 9-11 in the wintertime.
You should be prepared to answer questions about your work history, job experience and what you could add to our workforce. For driving jobs, be prepared to do a drive test and show that you can do pre and post trip inspections. It’s always helpful to do some research on our company, job position and the industry itself. That can be found on our company’s website.
The human resource department will conduct brief interviews over the phone before scheduling the main interview with each department. The maintenance department will conduct their interviews over zoom. Drivers will be given in person interviews with a driving test afterwards.
